Academy Funeral Services has been an integral part of the Christchurch community for more than 40 years. Founded in 1982 by Peter Lawrence and Geoffrey Hall, we first opened our doors in the heart of the city before moving to our current location at 65 Main South Road in 1985.
Peter and Geoffrey’s warm and professional approach created something truly special – a funeral service that’s personal, compassionate, and reliable, serving families from all denominations. And we’re proud to continue that same level of care today.

Our home at 65 Main South Road Upper Riccarton has a special history – the building used to be a church, and you can still feel its peaceful, welcoming spirit.
Inside, you’ll find a bright, comfortable lounge and reception area designed to help families feel at ease. Our modern chapel offers a warm, respectful space for funeral services.
