Marise McKenzie

McKENZIE, Thelma Marise (Marise), (ex-Staff Member of Greymouth High School, Hillmorton High School). On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in her 95th year, Marise passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side, at Christchurch Hospital, following a short illness. Dearly loved and devoted wife of the late Jock, Mum, and Mum-in-law of Gillian (Gill) and Tom Cowlishaw (Kaiapoi), Christine and Kevin Devereux (Australia), Murray and Claire, and Nigel (Deceased). Cherished and proud Grandma of Jules, Ash and Erin Cowlishaw, Cohen and Selby Devereux and Stephanie McKenzie and partners. Special Great-Grandma of Danielle Cowlishaw-West, Harrison, Emily and Charlie Denton, Eloise Devereux, and the much looked forward to baby Kenzie Devereux. Regular food and coffee companion of Tom and Jo Tokshge, and second Mum to both Helen Davidson and Jo. Special thanks to the amazing staff of Margaret Stoddart Rest Home for their outstanding care and camaraderie of Marise over the many years she was a part of your family. It will be quieter for sure. Special relationships have developed with care above and beyond. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes New Zealand would be appreciated and may be made at the service. The Funeral Service for Marise will be held in the Academy Funeral Services Chapel, 65 Main South Road, Upper Riccarton, on Thursday, March 14, at 1.30pm.
