Hugh James Kearns

KEARNS, Hugh James – Passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Park Lane Retirement Village, aged 91.  Beloved husband of the late Helen Theresa [nee Bond]; Loved father of Hugh and Sasha (Christchurch), Berni and Simon (Wallingford, Eng.), Matt and Yayoi (Blackball) and Andy and Tiddy (Christchurch).  Much loved granddad of Chris and Ilisa (Christchurch) and Emma (Kalgoorlie, Aus); Jessie and Jim (Wallingford, Eng.) and great-grandfather of Lachlan, Isabella, Charlotte, Henry and Edie.  Loved son of the late Hugh and Mabel Kearns and brother and brother-in-law of the late Margaret and Percy Lane, Bill and June Kearns, Nance and Ken Carrington, Mary and George Milne, Gerry and Leone Kearns, Michael and Doris Kearns, Carmel Kearns, Marista (Posh) and Denis Ryan, Monica Kearns (Sister Mary Cornelia), Kevin and Irene Kearns and John and Glenys (surviving) Kearns; and Uncle Hugh to his many nieces and nephews.  A very special thank you to all the people who cared for Hugh at Park Lane and previously, Mayfair.  The funeral will be live streamed at https://tinyurl.com/jntc9mu8 . A Funeral Service for Hugh will be held in the Academy Funeral Services Chapel, 65 Main South Road, Upper Riccarton on Tuesday, June 18, at 1:00pm followed by interment at Shands Road Cemetery.
