Frederick Richard (Dick) Gwatkin

Gwatkin, Frederick Richard (Dick). On June 21, 2025, at Christchurch Hospital after a short illness; aged 86 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Jan, much loved father and father-in-law of Nic and Blair Hartland, and Tim and Robin Gwatkin. Adored grandfather of Emma, Tessa, and Ben Hartland, and Oliver and Georgia Gwatkin. Much loved son of the late Effie and Fred Gwatkin, and brother and brother-in-law of Pam, Bev (dec) and John (dec), Rex and Shirley, and brother-in-law of Jeffie and Sam (dec). A loved son-in-law and uncle. The family wish to acknowledge the care and support given to Dick by the staff at Diana Isaac Retirement Village. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to Alzheimers NZ and can be made either at the service or online at www.alzheimers.org.nz.  Messages for the Gwatkin family c/o Academy Funeral Services, PO Box 111-01, Christchurch 8443.
