Passed away peacefully at Essie Summers Retirement Home, on 20 September 2025, aged 91years. Dearly loved wife of the late Colin for 60 years. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Glenys & George, the late Ian & Tania, Brent & Lynne, and Claire. Cherished grandmother of Jonathon, Gemma & Gareth, Dean, Amy, Nick & Mia, Ash & Hailey, Cole & Sarah, and Jack & Adrienne. Treasured great-grandmother to all her much-loved great-grandchildren. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Ron* & Janet*, Shirley & Don, Natalie & Brian*, Airini* & Don*, and Wendy; Jack* & Mildred*, Margaret* & Bob*, and Joy*. (* Deceased) A special aunt who enjoyed many happy times with her nieces and nephews. Daphne lived a full and happy life, dedicated to teaching and mentoring hundreds of children across 37 years at Sockburn, Riccarton, Wharenui, Wairakei, and Ilam Primary Schools, and was proud to direct the Christchurch Schools’ Music Festival for several years.
